St. Gregory’s is very popular with pupils and parents, as a result we are often over subscribed with applications for new school years. We would like all children whose parents apply for a place here to be accepted but it is just not possible.
Our children come from Sudbury, Great Cornard, Long Melford, and the surrounding areas. They are admitted to school in the September of the academic year in which they turn 5. Our PAN (Pupil Admission Numbers) is 30 allowing only 30 new reception children to be admitted to the school (see the selection criteria in the Admissions to Schools in Suffolk Brochure – available from Suffolk County Council).
Parents are most welcome to make an appointment to look round the school before making a formal application and we strongly encourage this – visiting a school allows you to get a feel for the building, atmosphere and ethos, which will really help you to decide if it is the right place for your child. All of our tours of the schools are carried out by the Headteacher, or the Deputy Headteacher of the Head is not available, and appointments can be made by contacting the school office.
